Campbell went on to clarify that he wished he said “Follow your blisters,” which is completely aligned with the ethos that Peterson advocates. Peterson’s critique is misguided, because it’s not actually a critique of Campbell, it’s a critique of those who misinterpreted Campbell.

And “individuated” life is a life guided by conscience. Your conscience is the voice that invites you to be your most courageous, authentic, and excellent self. That is “the call to adventure.”

Jordan is a disgraced psychologist, doesn’t even teach psychology nor is a clinical psychologist. Why ? Because he was proven unprofessional in the case of Peterson v. College of Psychologists of Ontario, 2023 ONSC 4685 DIVISIONAL COURT FILE NO.: 714/22 DATE: 20230823 , and was sanctioned $30,000. He violated a Montana Supreme Court GAG order, defamed a child, and defended unfit parents to boot in the Montana Kolstadt family court case. Which was upheld by the US Supreme part recently when an identical case from Indiana was rejected certiorari. You all should be aware of this

Dominance and justice cannot coexist because dominance is not constrained to be ethical. There is plenty of non consental dominance. This is why Jordan is a sociopath.

3:15, 3:27, 3:46, 5:25, 5:37, 6:03-6:11, 11:30, 12:20 There is always something near you that isn’t right, that isn’t laced out properly or the best it can be, that you , have the ability (responsibility) to fix 7:20 Cain and Abel represent adopting the responsibility vs not (doing what you know us right vs not) 8:00 People don’t see God because they don’t lower themselves enough to see Him (humble themselves and realize/utilize the things God has given them right under their noses) 9:57 he hides from God and doesn’t do what he knows he must do (face God, admit/confess mistake/mess, take responsibility) because he is ashamed/insecure of his inadequacy. He doesn’t aim up towards what He truly knows is best for him (instead he hides from it and aims down by not taking responsibility) because he was afraid of the consequences 12:41 it always pays off, it always results in better than before eventually

Hey man, I followed this channel way back in the "Pordan B Jeterson" days and when you stopped I kind of lost track. I recall you were going to Tonga at one point and then saw some Tarot videos. Something reminded me of this channel so I decided to search for it again. I see it's been a while again but hope you're doing well. Look forward to seeing your thoughts on life and overcoming obstacles.

Here's how I see it. Campbell spotted the metaphorical story patterns in myth and religions from antiquity. He was a philosopher and treated it as such. He was honest. Peterson is a loquacious blabber head who knows the Bible is fake, but still supports the Abrahamic religious because he knows they are closest to being the out of control masses of supernatural believing, non-thinkers who fear more in life than they love. He's a MAGA favorite. What does that say?

I like Campbell but not Peterson. Just look at the two when they speak, Campbell is a happy enthusiastic man in that interview while Peterson in various videos is miserable, angry and resentful - Gabor Mate accurately notes that Peterson is filled with rage that can be seen in a lot he says, the rage is barely being restrained by Peterson and of course at times he explodes in rage with people he disagrees with.

I just heard an out of context quote from Peterson about how delicious children happen to be, and I was completely unphased because I immedietly took for granted that he was talking about Hansel and Gretel. Perhaps a sign I've listened to him too much.

I think a point that is being missed is putting aside all the benefits of meditation and the spiritual aspects of it there is something in it that is just as rigorous as any other scientific research we conduct. Instead of being for the normal persoective of reality though which is the world outside ourselves and how it functions its looking inward to the world of first person sensory experience and phenomenology of consciousness. If you wanted approach understanding and observing subjective experience as closely as possible its going to inherently look like meditation. We'd control all the extra noise in our experience by calming it down and deliberately try to get our thoughts under control. Then we might introduce a single sensation such as wiggling a toe to which we'd try to observe as intensely as we are able in order to see it as clearly as we can. Its nearly exactly like putting something under a microscope to get a much better look at it. Like I said it's a rigorous endeavor. If we stumble upon a better way of doing it of course we should switch to that instead but meditation is what we have for the time being. Just like there is vast complexity to understand about the world around us there is also that same vastness inside our own experience. What is there when we do something as normal as think of a word? What is happening step by step in first person experience? What is there when we feel pain in our back, or pain in our emotional selves? These and many others are the kinds of questions best answered by undergoing an investigation that looks a whole lot like meditation. From this point of view it is almost exasperating to see a very educated, intelligent, influential scientist not be able to grasp this. To view the world as a thing that is exactly the way it appears to himself and that the conscious lens it's perceived from has zero effect on or distortion of that reality. Really to just simply not understand that when we experience anything, like touching an object, *SOMETHING* is obviously happening in experience and whatever that thing is can be observed and investigated *like every other thing in reality that we study and investigate.* Which none of this is a diss on Dawkins, not at all. It just highlights how much of an uphill battle the scientific community has in order to begin to understand this increadibly fundamental aspect of consciousness.

Campbell was optimistic, transcendent, and wise; while Peterson is a cynical Protestant rationalist-materialist. That's the difference. Follow your bliss find your meaning and flow with it, but Peterson can't read the meaning of that in a deep way because it's not predicated on life being a grim march toward death and suffering necessitating making a monstrosity of oneself out of a misguided need to conquer reality. Campbell would ally with reality instead--not ignoring the grim parts but not consumed and embittered and frightened by them like Peterson.
